As part of the 1st Grugalauf 2.5 km, the Universitätsmedizin Essen Foundation organized a donation and solidarity campaign at Grugapark Essen under the patronage of Mayor Thomas Kufen in favor of emergency medical care for Ukraine.

Both Germans and Ukrainians took part. Ukrainians living in Germany came to support the runners. They stood out with bright yellow and blue symbols. The participants of the race: men, women, children, young parents and mothers with strollers, even dogs, honorably overcame a long distance. The atmosphere of positivity, good mood and patriotism prevailed at the sports holiday.

The funds raised from the event will go to medical care for Ukraine.
