On May 8, the day of remembrance of the liberation of the world from Nazism, a Great March in support of Ukraine took place in Cologne.
About 10,000 people attended the event. Among these people were Ukrainians, Germans, Belarusians, Russians, Georgians and many others. This time the participants of the March had more than 200 yellow and blue balloons, which symbolized the children who died during the war in Ukraine. Also during the march, people carried a huge flag of Ukraine. Ukrainian songs and slogans were heard during the event.
At the end of the March, everyone gathered in the central square, where high-ranking people performed. The mayor of Cologne was the first to take the stage with her speech, followed by the Ambassador of Poland and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Ukrainians were grateful that Europeans were so supportive of their homeland. The event ended with a moment of silence for all the victims.
